Music is an integral part of our Malayalam and English worship service at St Thomas Mar Thoma Church of Delaware Valley and an important element of the congregation's outreach to the Western Suburbs community. We have a superb acoustical and visual setting for music in worship and in concert, and the church houses a superb 2-manual mechanical-action pipe organ and two mini-pianos.
The St.Thomas MTC Choir is a thirty-five-plus voice choir with a core of professional singers performing a wide variety of choral music from the traditional hymns to the present day Maramon classics. In addition to singing for the church's regular Sunday worship services, the choir members present major works for our Sunday school and for weddings, competitions and similar events. In future years, we hope to perform concerts to enhance the talents of our children and youths. We have many talented children who are capable of playing piano, violin, drums, and other musical instruments. Membership in the choir is open to all who are talented and enjoy singing. Basic music reading ability is necessary and special preference will be give to people who are proficient in singing alto, soprano, tenor, and bass.
